Memorial Tabs Sheely As New Soccer Coach
ELKHART – The Elkhart Memorial boys soccer program has a new coach.
Todd Sheely has been hired to replace Dan Sullivan, who recently resigned to become an assistant coach at Goshen College.
Sheely spent 10 seasons as the girls soccer coach at Center Grove High School south of Indianapolis. He guided the program to nine sectional titles, seven regional crowns and one Final Four appearance. Sheely, a 1997 Center Grove graduate, then coached the boys team there in 2013 and 2014. He posted a 36-6-1 record with two sectional and two regional championships and a Final Four trip.
Sheely, who was a three-year starter at IUPUI during his playing career, taught at Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger last year. He will teach social studies at Memorial.
The Crimson Chargers went 15-5 last fall and won the program’s first sectional title in 18 years.
