Naptown Wears Down Bone City [VIDEO]
INDIANAPOLIS – The home-sided Naptown Third Alarm rode a strong second half to wear out the Bone City Rollers, 236-115, Saturday night in roller derby.
Naptown led Bone City by just over 30 points heading into the second half, but used a superior jammer corps to buzz past the Bone City wall as the back half wore on. A short-handed Bone City squad, which held leads in the first half, couldn’t match the speed and physicality, pushing the score to a much less level final tally.
Bone City has almost two full months to regroup and prepare for its home bout. An August 27 affair with Mitten Mavens will take place at Hansen’s Eastlake Skate Center, with a 5 p.m. start time. Proceeds for the bout will go to Isaiah 11 Ministry, a local non-profit group that helps counsel adults as well as serves as incorporating an animal rescue, which becomes part of the counseling process.
