Weather Service Issues Flood Warning
NORTHERN INDIANA — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Eel River at North Manchester, affecting Kosciusko, Whitley, Cass, Miami and Wabash Counties. Rainfall this evening is expected to cause the Eel River at North Manchester to rise above flood stage.
The flood stage for the Eel River is 9 feet. As of 11 a.m. today, the stage was at 4.7 feet and falling, however it is expected to rise above flood stage starting Thursday morning, June 23, and crest at 10.7 feet by 2 p.m. Thursday, falling back below flood stage by 9 a.m. Friday, June 24.
Drivers are warned not to attempt to drive through flooded areas. The water may be too deep. Parents are also warned not to let children play in or near floodwaters.
