Halloween Program
On Halloween night the books come to life at SPL! All ages are welcome to come to the library’s Halloween program, “A Night at the Library” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Scenes from favorite family classics come to life in the library. Meet Peter Rabbit in the Briar Patch and say hello to Winnie the Pooh (and Tigger, too!) in the enchanted garden. Then, watch as Peter Pan and Captain Hook face off on the Jolly Roger, but who will prevail?
Next, Robin Hood must rescue Maid Marian from the castle, but he’ll have to get past the Sheriff of Nottingham first! Harry Potter and the Hogwarts crew will have plenty of wizard games and snacks, and Willy Wonka will be giving out candy to the trick-or-treaters.
The whole tour should take about 10 minutes, so families have plenty of time to make the SPL a stop on their trick-or-treating route.
The library is also looking for volunteers to help with all the behind-the-scenes work as well as creative performers to be book characters. This program is free and for all ages.
