Wawasee FFA Attends National Convention
Though Wawasee will have no teams or individuals participating in contests this year, a group of 23 FFA students will attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
Mariah Roberts, FFA advisor and agriculture teacher at Wawasee High School, noted the group will leave early in the morning Friday, Oct. 26, to arrive in time for one of the morning sessions at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.
Walter Bond will be the keynote speaker during the session and will likely speak on a topic related to the theme of “Grow” for this year’s convention.
After the session, the Wawasee group will be allowed to attend a college and career fair at the Indiana Convention Center, which is within walking distance of Bankers Life Fieldhouse. There will also be student and teacher workshops in the afternoon.
The group will return to Syracuse that same evening. Several FFA students will be unable to attend the convention due to other fall break commitments.
