Ragan Files Papers For Republican Chair Position
WARSAW — Warsaw resident Mike Ragan filed papers for the office of Kosciusko County Republican Chairman last Friday, July 15. The caucus is to be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, according to acting chairman, Marsha McSherry.
Ragan has had an interest in being county chairman for many years, however it was the urging of retiring chairman Randy Girod, his wife DeAnna, and several Kosciusko County precinct committee members that finalized his decision to file. Ragan added that his proprietor and managerial business experience, knowledge of the political process and desire for public service are necessary qualifications for this position. Being retired gives him time to meet the requirements to lead the county party.
For several years, Ragan has been a regular attendee of Warsaw zoning, planning and city council meetings and Kosciusko County commission and county council meetings. Ragan is an elected Republican precinct committeeman from Kosciusko County Wayne 5 and has attended or worked most Kosciusko County Republican events for several years.
Ragan is in the Indiana Third Congressional District Finance Events committee and is the Kosciusko County chairman of the Todd Young for United States Senate campaign.
He was born in Warsaw, a sixth-generation Kosciusko County resident. A Warsaw Community High School graduate, he married the former DeAnna K. Rule in 1986 and is the father of Troy L. Ragan (deceased).
