YMCA Offering Youth Outdoor Soccer
WARSAW — Registration for youth outdoor soccer runs until Aug. 7 for ages 3 to third grade at the Kosciusko Community YMCA.
It is easy to sign up and a membership to the Y is not required. The Y’s soccer program is a safe environment for children to learn practical and social skills and develop positive values. Modified rules and equipment will be used to ensure the greatest opportunity for your child to succeed.
League divisions include division one for ages 3-4, division two for age 5 to first grade and division three for second and third grades. Division three will have a 45-minute weeknight practice on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Divisions one and two will practice before their game. Games will be played Saturday mornings.
Practices and games will take place at the Harrison school sports fields. Soccer will also give parents an opportunity to take an active role as a volunteer coach.
Register at either of the YMCA branches or online. Registration will be open until Aug. 7, with a late registration, including a late fee until Aug. 19. The first game will be Aug. 20, and the last Oct. 1. Contact Zane Gard with any questions at (574) 269-9622 x238.
The YMCA provides financial assistance for those who qualify. Applications need to be turned in three weeks in advance.
