First Friday Was Cruisin’ In The 80s
WARSAW — August’s First Friday was Cruisin’ in the 80s with Sock Monkeys and the Baker Youth Club.
Crowds gathered to “ooh” and “aah” over the vehicles that were around the courtyard square yesterday, Friday, Aug. 5, for the 26th Annual Cruisin’ Hoosier Car Show.
Among those attending First Friday were the Bone City Rollers, who help support many local charities and organizations, like Isaiah 11 Ministry and Animal Rescue. One group of the BCR were at First Friday, while another group volunteered at the Family Carnival in Center Park on the same day as First Friday. BCR also laid Pokemon Lures around the courtyard square to draw the crowds.
The Soul Taker with Zombies Alive were also at First Friday to let everyone know that the Soul Taker lives. Soul Taker Acres will open Sept. 30, and be open every Friday and Saturday in October.
A youth from Warsaw, Blake Robinson, said he loves the car show because, “I think it’s neat that a lot of people keep the past alive by restoring these cars. I think that it’s just really neat because of the time, effort and love they put into them.”
Executive Director of the Baker Youth Club Tracy Furnivall and Board Member Mark Bonifield had a booth set up on the courtyard square selling BYC t-shirts and caps. Furnivall said all proceeds from the car show will go towards funding the BYC, so they can continue to help the communities youth.
