Alvin J. Keim
Alvin J. Keim, 85, Goshen, passed away Monday night, Aug. 8, 2016, at Courtyard Healthcare surrounded by his children.
He was born June 25, 1931, in Yoder, Kan. On Sept. 4, 1952, he married Susanna W. Yoder.
Survivors include four children: Suzan (Gregory) Oligee, New Paris; Polly (Brent) Byrnes, Dacula, Ga.; Earl (Kathy) Keim, Brookville; and Terry (Cathy) Keim, Williston, Vt.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Emma Zehr, Goshen; Atlee Keim, Haven, Kan.; Clara Mae Keim, Yoder, Kan.; and Leander Keim, Orland, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jonas and Lizzie (Stutzman) Keim; his wife: Susanna; three siblings: Henry and Junia Keim; and Ada Beachy; and a great-grandson: Maxwell James Grimmeissen.
A carpenter by trade, Mr. Keim also worked for Star Tank, Carriage and made TV satellite dishes.
He had many hobbies including boating, water skiing, guitar playing, bowling, watching harness racing, camping, playing cards and dominoes with his grandchildren at family gatherings and napping!
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
A Christian funeral service will be conducted at LifePoint Church, Goshen, with Pastor Troy Scott officiating at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.
Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
Memorial contributions may be given to Maxwell James Grimmeissen Memorial Fund in Franklin County.
