Garage Sale To Stretch Across Several States
WARSAW — The 10th annual Lincoln Highway “Buy-Way” sale will take place Thursday, Aug. 11, through Saturday, Aug. 13, stretching across the Lincoln Highway from Ohio to Iowa.
A local sale is featured at the corner of West Old 30 and North CR 350W from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Warsaw during those dates.
The Lincoln Highway was moved to Kosciusko County in the mid 1920s, following the route of what is now known as Old 30. It ran through Warsaw on Center and Lake Streets.
Yard sales will take place on the route across four states, recognizing the first “Main Street Across America”, the vision of Hoosier Carl Fisher, who was also instrumental in founding the Indianapolis 500, Dixie Highway and Miami Beach.
The Lincoln Highway, established in 1913, was the first coast-to-coast route in the United States starting at Times Square in New York City, N.Y., and ending in San Francisco, Calif.
