Possible Sexual Predator In Walkerton/Plymouth Area
MARSHALL COUNTY — The Walkerton Police Department is warning the public of a possible sexual predator in the area.
Police say a white male riding a red car or white van has been stalking several women in the area. The sequence of events is as follows:
Aug. 17, 4 a.m.: Police respond to complaint of suspicious vehicle at Roosevelt Road and Michigan Street. The description given was a white male, wearing a baseball cap, driving a red Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Aug. 17, 6:30 a.m.: Same vehicle (red Monte Carlo) seen in Plymouth, circling a lone juvenile female jogger. Police say the driver asked for sexual favors from the juvenile, exposed himself to her and tried to lure her into the vehicle.
Aug. 17, evening: Same vehicle (red Monte Carlo) circled a different lone female jogger on Roosevelt Road near Washington Street. Police say the driver tried to lure the female into the car and circled her five to six times.
Aug. 21, 4:30 p.m.: A white van, with driver matching the description of the driver in the previous incidents (white male, baseball cap) was seen circling another lone female running on Industrial Park Drive. The driver reportedly circled the female five times while trying to lure her into his van.
The Walkerton Police Department is working with the Plymouth Police Department to secure a positive identification of the suspect and expects to have that information by the end of the day Tuesday.
Police encourage all female joggers to stay aware of their surroundings and travel in groups. If suspicious activity is observed, police say you should contact them right away.
