Hall Booked For Battery With A Deadly Weapon
WARSAW — Reid Terry Hall, 18, 522 South CR 450E, Pierceton, was booked for battery with a deadly weapon, battery bodily injury, disorderly conduct – fight and criminal reckless with a deadly weapon.
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of battery on Aug. 20. According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer found a subject hit over the head with a shotgun who was semi-conscious on a driveway. The individual on the ground was bleeding from the side of his face and attempting to stand up.
According to the affidavit probable cause, Hall’s mother told officers that her boyfriend and Hall got into a physical fight. Hall obtained a shotgun and struck his mother’s boyfriend in the face with the shotgun.
Hall told officers that when his mother and her boyfriend returned home to see Hall there with friends, the boyfriend became belligerent. Hall got into a physical altercation with with his mother’s boyfriend. Hall’s mother’s boyfriend allegedly got a hammer and told everyone to leave. Hall then went into the residence, obtained a shotgun, put the shotgun in his truck and left the residence with his friends.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Hall later returned to the residence to obtain items he had left when he got into another argument with his mom’s boyfriend. Hall allegedly hit his mom’s boyfriend in the leg with a shotgun. The boyfriend allegedly stated, “Is that all you’ve got?” Hall then struck him in the face with the gun, knocking him unconscious. Hall stated he knew he was unconscious because he could hear him snoring on the ground when Hall left.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Hall’s mother’s boyfriend has no recollection of being hit with the shotgun or knocked unconscious, however, an officer observed marks consistent with the shape of a shotgun on the back of him. The boyfriend received several stitches due to the incident. Officers located the shotgun which had blood and what looked to be human skin on the barrel.
Hall is currently booked at the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s department on bond for $10,250 surety and cash.
