Panthers Pace Local Teams In CGA Invite
PLYMOUTH – NorthWood led the way Saturday for a trio of local teams competing in the Culver Academy Girls’ Golf Invitational.
The Panthers shot a 353 to place second in the 11-team event held at the Swan Lake Golf Club. Wawasee finished in fifth place with a 387 and Tippecanoe Valley was ninth with a 479.
No. 11 Lake Central won the team title by shooting 347. Alexis Miestowski of Lake Central was medalist with a 77.
Summer Stillson led the way for the NLC regular-season champion Panthers. The senior standout shot a round of 78 to place second among individuals in the field.
Mackenzie Weaver of NorthWood was fifth overall with a round of 80. Madison Richner shot a 97, Abby Slabaugh 98 and Alaina Benjamin 103 for the Panthers.
Aubrey Schmeltz led the way for the Warriors Saturday. She finished in ninth place among individuals with a round of 87.
Madison Beaman shot a 96 and Zoe White a 106 for Wawasee. Lesley Tayaqua shot 108 and Jadison Rostochak 111 for the Warriors.
Victoria Biddle was the top golfer for Valley as she shot 97. Blake McBrier shot 123, while Bethany Johnson had a 127, Makayla Sandbakken a 132 and Jordan Krotke a 134 for the Vikings.
Wawasee will host Fairfield and Elkhart Central and Valley will face Northridge and John Glenn on Tuesday nigh.
