Jim Swanson Resigns From Grace College
WINONA LAKE — Grace College announced the sudden resignation of Vice President of Student and Academic Services Jim Swanson on Sept. 13.
President of Grace College, Dr. Bill Katip sent out the following email to the student body announcing the resignation:
“Dear Grace Student Body:
I am writing to inform you that Dr. Jim Swanson has resigned, effective today. There are no issues of immorality involved in this decision. We wish Dr. Swanson well and pray for him and his family.
The very capable Student Affairs leadership team will continue to be available to serve you in the various areas associated with this office. We want to assure you that there will be no interruptions in programs and services.
We are grateful for Dr. Swanson’s many years of service to Grace College and Seminary.”
During his time at Grace, in addition to his role as Vice President of Student and Academic Services, Swanson was an Assistant Professor of Sociology, Program Coordinator for Masters of Science in Higher Education. Swanson oversaw residence halls, chapel, campus safety, the first-year experience, the general education core curriculum, the library, athletics, the registrar and student clubs and organizations.
