Bowen Center Opens New Inpatient Unit
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Bowen Center on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016.
The Bowen Center will be opening its new adult inpatient unit in Pierceton on Oct. 4. This new state of the art 24 hour behavioral healthcare facility will be located on 9 Pequignot Drive, Pierceton. The new building will feature 12 adult client rooms and 20,622 square feet and use an innovative pod design with 4 client rooms per pod.
Fiscal Year 2016 of the Bowen Center inpatient unit saw 938 patients served for 2,976 bed days with mood disorders, psychotic disorders and substance abuse disorders as the most commonly treated issues. The new facility will be taking referrals from 10 area counties the Bowen Center currently serves, which include Kosciusko, Whitley, Allen, Huntington, Wabash, Marshal, Dekalb, Steuben, Lagrange and Noble counties.
Bowen Center’s mission is “To positively impact the quality of life of those we serve by providing professional, caring, cost-effective behavioral healthcare services.” This consumer driven company was established in 1961 and is celebrating its 55th anniversary.
