Hither and Yon Hosts Sale
WARSAW — This Friday and Saturday, Oct.14-15, Hither & Yon will be hosting a large home goods sale at Lakeland Christian Academy, located at 1093 S. CR 250E, Winona Lake, including everything from repurposed furniture to other beautiful and unique home furnishings including pillows, lamps, wall art and other craft items. All of the proceeds will be used to support education for children in Zambia for whom a high school graduation can be life altering.
This will be the third annual sale held in the fall at Lakeland Christian Academy and it has become an event people really look forward to attending. As a ministry of Mission Point Community Church, Hither & Yon exists with the sole focus of fostering hope through education.
“We are so excited to continue this two-day event at Lakeland, said Laurie Victa, manager of Hither & Yon. “Our volunteers have been working tirelessly to be able to offer some really beautiful items.”
Through a partnership with a group of churches in rural Zambia, Hither & Yon has been able to establish an education project and identify students that are at risk for dropping out of school due to financial hardship. “At this point we have committed to supporting a group of children through high school, which will empower them and offer a whole new world of opportunity. All of the proceeds from this sale will be used to support those children,” says Victa.
While people can simply donate to the cause, the goal is to offer something in return. “This is a real opportunity to put your money to work. Shopping the sale allows you to purchase with a purpose – and bring home something unique at the same time!”
The doors will open at Lakeland 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information about Hither & Yon and the children they support, and to see pictures of some of the items for sale, please visit online.
