D. Lucille Gaither, Winona Lake, passed away at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at the age of 96.

She was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1981 where she was a member of Winona Lake Free Methodist Church. Lucille was also a member of the Thrifty Fifty in Winona Lake, Christian Women’s Club, and Winona Lake Literary Club. She was a homemaker who loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She was born July 3, 1920 in Monett, Mo. to Veda E. (Taylor) Owens and Charles W. Owens.  On Oct. 1, 1939 she was married to Berlin Donald Gaither, who passed away on Jan. 8, 2001.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: C. Duane (wife Carolyn) Gaither, Indianapolis; Eldon R. Gaither, Warsaw; three grandchildren, one step grandson, seven great grandchildren; and her half-brother: Charles Owens, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw and officiated by Pastor Henry Church.  There will be time for visitation with the family prior to the service from 11 a.m.– 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.  Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.
