South Bend Man Arrested For August Vehicle Fire
PLYMOUTH — Raymond Grummell Sr. of South Bend was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies Thursday, Oct. 27, in connection to a vehicle fire Aug. 2. Grummell has been charged with arson.
According to Marshall County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Jeff Snyder, the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a 911 call at 3:42 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, of a vehicle fire. The vehicle was parked in a driveway of a residence in the 11700 block of 4A Road, Plymouth. Snyder reported the nature of the fire was believed suspicious and an investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire to be an intentional act.
A resident where the fire occurred was able to provide information leading to Grummell as a suspect. After an extensive investigation, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was able to obtain an arrest warrant. Grummell was located in South Bend Oct. 27, and taken into custody. He was booked in the Marshall County Jail.
