Inez Lorette (DuBois) Eley
Inez Lorette (DuBois) Eley, 97, of Plymouth, Indiana and formerly of the Argos Community died on Nov. 18, 2016 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, Indiana where she had been in failing health.
On Oct. 7, 1919 in Manchester, New Hampshire she was born to Arthur J. DuBois and Corrine (Cutler) DuBois. She has lived in the Argos Community since 1944.
She was employed in Washington D.C. with the United States Civil Service when she met and on Feb. 13, 1942 she married Sgt. Maurice D. Eley during World War II. At the end of the War and with Sgt. Eley’s discharge they came back to Argos, Indiana. He preceded her on April 19, 2003.
Inez was a Homemaker and worked for Dr. Hampton, Dr. Coursey, and Dr. Ward as a Medical Secretary. She retired in 1975. She was a graduate of the class of 1939 from Central High School in Manchester, New Hampshire. Inez went on to graduate from Franklin College of Science and Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a Medical Secretary and Laboratory Assistant.
Inez was a member of the Argos United Methodist Church, Argos, Indiana; James Lowell Corey; American Legion Axillary #68, Argos, Indiana. Inez had been involved with the Elks Lodge, and the Moose Lodge. She played is several Golf Leagues over the years. Inez also was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and St. Joseph Hospital, Plymouth, Indiana
Inez is survived by her daughters, Carol Ann McElfresh of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Marilyn Jean Jones of Argos, Indiana; son, Robert Alan Eley of Argos, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Robert DuBois.
