Ace In The Hole Films will be holding a red carpet premiere of its short film, The Destination, at the Goshen Theater in Goshen, Ind., this Thursday, Nov. 8. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event begins at 7 p.m.

The premiere is a charity event to raise money for both Riley’s Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is based in Memphis, Tenn. All proceeds from ticket sales will be split between the two hospitals.

“We really wanted to create an event that not only supported great hospitals we believe in, but also to give families a chance to feel like stars for a night and let them walk the red carpet,” says A.C. McCray, owner of Ace In The Hole Films and writer/director of The Destination. “You can dress up if you like, if not that’s ok too. Just come as you are and enjoy the festivities.”

The Destination story follows Ash, a young girl who wakes up alone in an unfamiliar place. She hears the sound of her parents crying and sets off on a journey to find them. Ash meets people willing to help point her in the right direction, but she soon learns that her original goal was not her destination. The film is dedicated to the memory of Ash McCray, Bob McCray and Jane Balbaugh, family of A.C. McCray, all of whom passed away in 2011.

Along with screening the film, guests will have a chance to get their picture taken on the red carpet, listen to the music from the film performed live, ask the cast a question as part of the cast Q&A, and hear the story that inspired the film told live by McCray.

“Last year, I lost three family members in a very short time.” says McCray. “It was the hardest thing I ever had to endure, but even with all the tragedy, I was able to find hope and strength to keep going. I hope this film shows people that there is hope in times of loss, and there is more to life than here and now.”

The Film was shot this summer at the Next To Heaven Ranch in Townsend, Tenn., as well as local communities including Warsaw, North Webster and Milford. The cast is comprised of Alex Underwood, Erin McCray, Kris “Coyote” Underwood, Chris Cage, Ken Strong, Penny Rogers and Corie Cox. The film score is composed by Thomas Eisenhour, featuring the song “Oh How I Miss You” featuring lyrics by The Destination star Alex Underwood with music by Eisenhour.

Writer and director A.C. McCray has over 15 years of experience in a dramatic environment. He has been an actor, producer, director and consultant for many theater productions, and co-founded the Firehouse Theater, formerly located in Fort Wayne, Ind. A.C. had acted in film, but this was his first time behind the camera. He is the father 4, three of whom have used Riley’s Hospital. He has also participated in fundraising activities for St. Jude in past years.

McCray says, “I’ve never had a doubt in my mind that this premiere would be a benefit for these two great children’s hospitals. All of my sons have been Riley patients. I have done events for St Jude in the past, and heard the stories of current and former patients. They do such great work, and I am happy to do what I can to help out. There are things far more important than me, and helping to support these hospitals, their patients and families is one of those things. If the funds we raise can help make the life of a child better for even one second, it’s a great success.”
