Girls Basketball
Tippecanoe Valley took it to Plymouth Thursday night, pounding the Lady Pilgrims 67-34 in Akron.
Valley wasted no time putting the pressure on the visitors, taking an 18-6 lead after one quarter and then dropped 20 more points in the second quarter to lead by 22 at halftime.
Anne Secrest was in vintage form, scoring 19 points to go with seven rebounds, five steals, four assists and four blocks. Sophie Bussard and Meredith Brouyette each dropped 14 points, Bussard adding five steals and three assists and Brouyette hitting four treys.
Valley (6-2) got after it defensively, recording 14 steals and seven blocks.
Jennah Nifong led Plymouth (6-2) with eight points and both Alli Andrews and Halle Reichard had seven points.
Plymouth won the JV game over Valley 42-29.
Tippecanoe Valley will host Wabash Saturday.
Swimming
Tippecanoe Valley split its swim meets Thursday at Wabash, taking the boys meet 102-81 while the Apaches claimed a 99-71 girls win between the Three Rivers Conference foes.
The VIkings claimed a win in 10 of the boys events, highlighted by top swims in the medley relay (2:01.24) and 400 free relay (4:02.21). Jacob Wagner won the 500 (5:38.59) and the 200 (2:13.31), Camden Tucker in the 100 (1:01.11), Dakota Prater in the butterfly (1:05.92), Travis Shull in diving (139.85), Chase Brower in the 50 (23.25) and Daniel Alexander in the individual medley (2:33.26).
The Lady Vikings had M Fear take the IM (2:55.77) and the backstroke (1:16.08), Kinzie Prater the butterfly (1:13.49), Blake McBrier the 500 (7:21.41) and the 400 free relay at 4:59.38.
Tippecanoe Valley swims again Saturday at the Culver Academy Invite.
