Carmel Man Arrested For Molestation
WARSAW — A Carmel man is being charged with child molestation after the victim stayed at his lake cottage in September.
Michael Anthony Daniels, 47, 2333 Chartwell Street, Carmel, is being charged with child molesting, a level 1 felony.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 7, a Kosciusko County Sheriff Officer spoke with a male who advised on Sept. 4, his family had been guests at Daniels’ lake cottage. The male explained he and his wife had been woken up in the early morning by the minor who told them Daniels had been touching her inappropriately.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim had been visibly shaken and upset. After the victim explained to the husband and wife what had occured, they left the residence without telling the Daniels family. Later in the day, the woman sent a text message to Daniels’ wife telling her what had occurred. Daniels’ wife responded that she had talked to Daniels and he stated he had been drunk and could not say whether or not he had molested the victim.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a forensic interview was conducted on the minor. The minor advised she had been asleep on a top bunk when Daniels woke her up and began touching her in her private areas. The minor advised she rolled over and Daniels left the room.
Daniels was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Friday, Dec. 2, on a bond of $152,500.
