Juanita M. Hanthorn
Juanita M. Hanthorn, 85, Plymouth, went home to be with her Lord peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 in the Pilgrim Manor nursing home.
Juanita was born Jan. 28, 1931 in Plymouth, to Harry W. and Alice (Montague) Griggs. Juanita worked for Kralis Brothers Foods in Mentone many years ago. She enjoyed babysitting and did some housekeeping before her retirement. She was a lifelong resident of Plymouth and a member of the House of Prayer in Plymouth. Juanita became the bride of Edward Hanthorn on Aug. 27, 1955, he preceded her in passing on Nov. 26, 1964.
Juanita is survived by her son, Dennis (Mary) Hanthorn, Plymouth; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; also surviving is Juanita’s sister, Donna Grossman, Plymouth.
Juanita is preceded in passing by her parents; husband; son, Allan in 2001; granddaughter, Jessica C. Hanthorn in 2006; sister, Bertha Wright; brother, Robert “Bud” Griggs
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be caring for the Hanthorn family. A funeral in honor of Juanita will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563. Private family burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
A time of visiting with the Hanthorn family will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec.11, in the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
The Hanthorn family requests memorial contribution in Juanita’s name may be given to the donor’s choice.
