Hollinger-Janzen Switching MLS Teams
Femi Hollinger-Janzen, the former soccer star at Bethany Christian High School, will be wearing a different Major League Soccer uniform come next season.
Hollinger-Janzen, who went on to earn All-Big Ten honors at Indiana University, was taken by the Minnesota United in the two-team expansion draft earlier this week. The United, who were involved in the draft along with Atlanta took him in the fifth and final round.
Hollinger-Janzen played his rookie season with New England. He had two goals and one assist in 19 games for the Revolution this past season. Each existing MLS team could protect 11 players and a team could lose no more than one player in the expansion draft.
The 23-year old Hollinger-Janzen was named the Indiana high school player of the year while at Bethany Christian and was a two-time All-Big Ten first-team pick collegiately for the Hoosiers. He was a third-round pick, being selected 51st overall, in the MLS 2016 SuperDraft.
