WARSAW — Warsaw Community schools will be implementing a new visitor sign-in system in the new year.

Chief Academic Officer David Robertson announced during a Warsaw Community School board meeting in October that all Warsaw area schools will begin implementing an automated check-in system, Raptor, in the new year.

Parents were informed that beginning the week of Jan. 9, 2017, Warsaw Community Schools will begin using a new procedure for visitors. Visitors who enter WCS buildings will be required to sign in using the Raptor system. The Raptor system is a digital visitor management systems that not only keeps a record of who visits the school buildings but also runs an instant check of all 50 states’ sex offender registries.

Warsaw schools have always required visitors to sign in when spending time in their building, but this is a transition to a digital system is designed to be a more efficient and make sure those who enter the buildings are in compliance with the law.

The first time individuals sign in with the Raptor system they will need to present a state issued ID to the receptionist. The receptionist will scan the ID and register the visitor in the system. After their first visit, individuals will only be required to scan their ID at a scanner kiosk in each office. Once individuals scan in, they will select their reason for their list, and a stick-on badge will instantly be printed. Individuals are to wear the badge at all times while they are in the building

Individuals may use any ID on their first visit that is issued by any state or government agency.
