Kosciusko County Elected Officials Attend Statewide Training With The Association Of Indiana Counties
KOSCIUSKO — Kosciusko County Treasurer Elect Rhonda Helser and Kosciusko County Council at large elects, Joni Truex and Sue Ann Mitchell attended the Association of Indiana Counties Newly Elected Officials Seminar. The two day event was held Dec. 14-15 at the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing.
More than 200 county elected officials from all over Indiana attended the training that included topics such as: purchasing and public bidding, employee/employer issues, State Board of Accounts overview and the basics of county budgeting. Various other state agency representatives from the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance, the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office and the Indiana State Auditor’s office also discussed a variety of issues specific to different county offices.
The association of Indiana Counties, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1957 for the betterment of county government. The various functions of the AIC include lobbying the Indiana General ASsembly on behlaf of counties, serving as a liaison among counties, state and federal agencies as well as providing technical assistance and training to county officials and employees.
