“We hope many families in the Milford community take advantage of the State Park Pass and discover a park for the first time, or return to a favorite park,” said Milford Public Library Director Julie Frew.

Passes allow entrance to Indiana’s 32 state parks and recreational areas. This pass cannot be placed on hold and is checked out on a first come, first serve basis. Call (574) 658-4312 with any questions.

FEBRUARY IS LOVE YOUR LIBRARY MONTH

Celebrate Love Your Library Month with the library this February. This month is a time to reflect on why libraries are important and how you can take advantage of its services. The Milford Library would love to see everyone in to use its services, check out materials and get involved.

If you’re looking for a way to show your love for the Milford library, consider volunteering or joining the Friends of the Library group. Consider checking out more materials in person or through Overdrive to help the library reach its circulation goal of 55,000. Introduce someone who doesn’t use the library to our services.

The library loves the community and will continue to evolve to best serve everyone in it. Let them know what you love about the library this month.

TAX FORMS AVAILABLE

State and Federal tax forms are available at the library and are located in the hallway leading to the adult department. Remember, taxes are due Tuesday, April 18. You can print other tax forms for free at the library if needed.

CHOCOLATE BINGO

Come to the library from 6:30-7:70 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, to create simple Valentines crafts play chocolate bingo. This free, informal evening is for those ages 18 and older.

WINTER STORY TIME 

Children will work up their appetite as winter story time continues Wednesday, Feb. 15 and Thursday, Feb. 16. The library is “counting cookies” and want kids to bring cookies to count and share. They will play cookie tic-tac-toe, create a “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” craft, and more. These free sessions are for children aged three to six.  PICK UP FREE CHILDREN’S CRAFTS AT THE LIBRARY

Stop in the library to pick up free children’s crafts in the Children’s Department downstairs. While you’re in, be sure to check out audiobooks or CDs to listen to as the kids complete their craft.

New titles in fiction include “Below the Belt” by Stuart Woods, “Humans, Bow Down” by James Patterson, “Broken Glass” by V.C. Andrews, and “The Midnight Bell” by Jack Higgins.

Well-known authors Tracie Peterson and Joyce Carol Oates both have new novels available in the Christian fiction section. Try Peterson’s “Treasured Grace” and Oates’ “A Book of American Martyrs”.

New Deadpool graphic novels have arrived. Read about the “merc with a mouth” with these first four volumes by Brian Posehn: “Dead Presidents”, “Soul Hunter”, “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, and “Deadpool vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.” These are all shelved in the teen area of the library.

Check out new DVDS “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back”, “Deep Water Horizon”, Tyler Perry’s “Boo! A Madea Halloween, and Life Animated” this month. “Greater” and “Arrival” will be available for checking out on Valentine’s Day and “Hacksaw Ridge” and “Manchester By the Sea” will be available on Feb. 21. Gilly Hopkins devises plans to escape her foster family in “The Great Gilly Hopkins” which can be found in the Adult Department. New CDs include “2017 Grammy Nominees, Now That’s What I Call Music 61”, and “The Wave” by Tom Chaplin.

Those who love Full House will love having the chance to check out “Fuller House: The Complete First Season” starting Feb. 28. Watch one of Disney’s newest princesses in “Elena of Avalor: Ready to Rule”. A 13-year-old girl becomes “The Eagle Huntress” in this movie due out Feb. 7. “Down on the Farm” arrives Feb. 14.
