Triton Basketball: Trojans Keep Moving Along
BOURBON – Triton continued its winning ways Saturday in a 57-34 pummeling of Caston in Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys buckets at the Trench.
Zac Pitney and Grant Johnson got back to their high-scoring ways, Pitney leading the march with 19 points while Johnson added 18 points on 9-11 shooting and chipped in seven boards.
Triton made the difference in turnover points, outscoring Caston 20-5 in points off turnovers. Triton forced 21 Comet giveaways and gave away just nine of its possessions.
Brandon Kinser and Eli Douglas finished 11 each for the Comets, now 2-16 on the year and 0-6 in the HNAC.
Triton moves to 11-5 overall and 6-0 in the HNAC. The Trojans have won eight of its last 10 games.
The Triton JV held command in a 47-31 win over Caston in the matinee. Delano Shumpert paced the Trojans with 12 points, Tye Orsund adding 11 points and Jared Bules nine points Ethan Berry had eight points and 10 boards in the win. Ben Elkins had 10 points for the Comet juniors.
Triton plays again Friday against LaVille in a key HNAC showdown.
