LCA Basketball: Bobcats Bury The Treys In Downing Cougars
HAMLET – The Oregon-Davis boys basketball team was dialed in from long distance Friday night.
The host Bobcats drained 16 treys in piling up the points to defeat Lakeland Christian Academy 86-39.
Oregon-Davis, which improved to 17-5 with its sixth straight win, led 19-7 after the opening period and 42-18 at halftime.
Landon Twombly scored 18 points to lead the way for LCA.
The Cougars played without top scorer Josh McDaniel, who was sidelined again due to an illness.
Elijay Raymond had 10 points and Jake Harmon eight for the Cougars, who fell to 7-15 with their third straight loss.
Raymond had six rebounds and Twombly four for LCA.
Trevor Risner netted six triples in scoring a game-high 27 points to pace the Bobcats, who are ranked No. 8 in Class 1-A. Lance Campbell hit five treys and finished with 19 points, while Jon Clark scored 17 points.
LCA plays at Howe Military in its regular-season finale Tuesday night. OD plays at LaVille, also in its finale on Tuesday night.
