NORTH WEBSTER — Because genealogy continues to grow in popularity, North Webster Community Public Library will offer another beginning genealogy course in April. This four-class course will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, April 3, 10, 17 and 24. Taught by Local History and Genealogy Center Director Beth Smith, this course is geared specially to help beginners get started researching their family histories. Another program back by popular demand by the library’s youngest patrons is lapsit story time. At 11 a.m., every Tuesday in April, parents and their babies, ages birth through 36 months, can enjoy a fun time together exploring books and stories, singing songs with hand motions, and engaging in meaningful play. The sessions are 20 minutes long followed by 20 to 30 minutes of play. Wiggles expected. Lapsit is also free to attend, but pre-registration is requested. Tickets are still available for the Bludgeoned on Broadway Murder Mystery Dinner at the library 6 p.m. Saturday, April 8. The setting is 1947 in the Arlington Theater on New York City’s Broadway Avenue. As the audience anxiously awaits the opening scene of a new Broadway show, the leading actor fails to make curtain call?  What happened to the star? Enjoy an evening of mystery and suspense as you join others trying to solve the crime. The fee will include dinner, character assignment and clues. Voyager book club meets 10 a.m. Monday, March 20 to discuss fiction books. If you have read a good fiction book lately, bring it to share and discuss with others. At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, revolving recipe round-up will gather to share and sample dishes made with or served with bread. Got a good recipe involving bread? Prepare it and bring it, along with the recipe. The library provides the table service and coffee.

The library provides the free popcorn for Family Movie Time 5 p.m. Thursday, March 30. Showing is a sequel to last month’s Disney movie about two mice who set out to rescue a little boy from the Australian outback. Rated G, the movie runs 77 minutes.
