Warsaw Man Arrested After Using Towing Company’s Account To Pay For Purchases At NAPA Auto Parts
WARSAW — A Warsaw man has been arrested after paying for items at a local NAPA Auto Parts store with a local towing company’s account without authorization.
Virgil R. Dordon, 701 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, is being charged with theft and forgery, both level 6 felonies.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on April 7, an employee of NAPA Auto Parts in Kosciusko County contacted authorities about a theft. The employee stated the male, later identified as Dordon, had been calling the store claiming to work for Stuckman’s Towing. The male had been paying for parts and tool orders with the Stuckman’s Towing charge account.
Dordon had ordered items on April 6 and picked them up on April 7. Dordon picked up items totaling $3,213.96.
On April 8, Dordon placed another order over the phone for pickup from NAPA Auto Parts. Employees at NAPA alerted the police and an officer waited for Dordon to come to the store to pick up the order. Dordon was then taken into custody.
Dordon stated he had been given permission to use the account by an employee of Stuckman’s Towing.
When questioned by an officer, Dordon admitted to picking up items from NAPA Auto Parts, taking them to a storage location and forging a name on the receipts when picking up the orders. Dordon stated he was using the merchandise he was obtaining to supply his marijuana habit.
The owners of Stuckman’s Towing stated they had not given Dordon permission to use the account.
Dordon was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Saturday, April 8, on a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
