Stuffed Animal Sleepover May Become An Annual Event
MILFORD — Can you imagine the mischief bears, Biggie, Olaf, a unicorn, a chameleon, dolphins, a panda, a fish, a dragon and dogs got into during a sleepover Thursday, April 13, at Milford Public Library? These stuffed animal friends of 16 area youngsters were caught messing with computer keyboards, raiding the refrigerator, playing on the computer, playing games, sneaking pieces of pizza, sitting on the copy machine to make copies and of course going through the selection of books.
Friends of the Milford Public Library hosted a bear story time and sleepover, inviting youngsters to bring their favorite teddy bear or other stuffed animal friend or doll for the event. The stuffed friends were checked in and enjoyed a story time, craft and snack with their human owners. Some of the stuffed friends came wearing their bathrobes or brought their own pillow and blanket.
The event began with youngsters bringing in their favorite stuffed animal, where it was given a name tag and number. Then the youngster was given a photo folder to include information about their stuffed friend. A photo of the mischief the stuffed friend got into overnight was included. The stuffed friends were picked up Friday afternoon, early evening.
While only a small handful were expected for the first time event, Friends of the Library were pleased and excited when 16 showed up to participate.
