Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
4:04 a.m. Thursday, April 20, North SR 13 and West CR 600N, Leesburg. Driver: Alicia M. Carnes, 21, North Parks Schram Road, Warsaw. Carnes struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Police Department investigated the following accidents:
11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, Lake City Highway and Orthopedic Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Donald F. Locke, 96, East Center Street, Warsaw, and Jared. S. Arnold, 18, West CR 100N, Warsaw. Locke was at the back of the line of a funeral procession that was traveling east on East Center Street and merged onto US 30 East. As Locke approached Orthopaedic Drive, Locke fell out line with the funeral procession by allowing several cars to get in front of him. Locke ran a red light while trying to catch up with the procession. Arnold has a green light so he proceed to turn off of US 30 and collided with Locke. Damage up to $10,000.
12:52 p.m. Thursday, April 20, Anchorage Road and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Eric J. Watkins, 22, Michaels Street, Warsaw, and Martha Bruner, 62, CR North 1000E, Akron. Watkins rear-ended Bruner. Damage up to $2,500.
2:22 p.m. Thursday, April 20, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kayla M. Kessay, 25, Lake City Highway, Warsaw; Seth J. Deamaral, 24, Lake City Highway, Warsaw; and Lindsay M. Senders, 31, East Market Street, Warsaw. Traffic was backed up due to a red light at the intersection of West CR 350N. Kessay was not able to stop in time and rear-ended Deamaral. The force from the collision caused Deamaral to rear-end Senders. Damage up to $10,000.
