HAMLET – The Triton boys basketball team opened the season in a big way Wednesday night.

Star Clay Yeo poured in 25 points as the Class 1-A No. 4 Trojans routed host Oregon-Davis 61-33.

Senior Yeo, who signed last week with Valparaiso University, is one of four starters back for Triton from last year’s 20-6 squad.

The Trojans raced to a 24-5 lead after the opening quarter versus the Bobcats en route to the dominating win.

Triton, which beat Oregon-Davis 89-33 last year, also got 14 points in the win from Skyler Reichert, who hit four treys. Tanner Shepherd netted nine points and Seth Glingle eight for the Trojans.

Carl Schnekenburger led OD, which went 4-17 last season, with 10 points.

Triton plays at Plymouth Tuesday night.
