HNAC Tennis Tourney: Triton Wins Three Of Five Wednesday
KNOX — Triton’s girls tennis team opened the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Tournament at Knox Wednesday, earning wins at three of five positions.
Kolbie Mason prevailed after being tested by North Judson’s Deanna Yetsko at 1 singles, winning the first set 6-1 before falling in a 12-game second set, 7-5, then rebounding with a 6-0 third set win. Quinn Downing put away LaVille’s Emily Cole, 6-2, 6-0 in the 2 singles bracket, while Emma Ross and Hannah Wanemacher combined to shut out Judson’s Ashlyn Householder and Izzy Didonna, love-love, in 1 doubles play.
Siera Sauer extended LaVille’s Charlet Kapke to a second-set tiebreaker at 3 singles but ultimately fell, 6-2, 7-6(5), while Mindi Dreibelbis and Kendra Morris lost their 2 doubles match with LaVille’s Savannah Lucas and Emily Cain in two 6-1 sets.
The HNAC Tournament continues Thursday at Knox at 5:30 p.m.
