NorthWood Softball: Ounce of Prevention Benefit Night May 15
NAPPANEE — The NorthWood softball team will be presenting Ounce of Prevention Cancer Awareness Night on Monday, May 15 when Plymouth comes to town.
NorthWood asking anyone who has personally been affected with cancer as well as those who have had or currently have a family member or friend affected by cancer to attend the game. Those attending are also encouraged to wear colors that represent the cancer they or a loved one battled with.
Everyone attending will be invited to take the field before the game as NorthWood senior Summer Stillson’s grandmother and aunt, both affected by breast cancer this year, throw out the celebratory first pitches. A group photo will follow.
Admission will be free to all attending. The NorthWood Student council will collect and donations at the game and those will go directly to Ounce of Prevention to raise cancer awareness and help those in need.
Finally, Ounce of Prevention will match any funds raised up to $1,500 and will award a scholarship to a NorthWood senior attending the game.
