Edgewood Middle School Hosts Open House And Student Showcase
WARSAW— Members of the community got a first-hand look at renovations to Edgewood Middle School and a student showcase during an open house held at Edgewood Middle School Tuesday, May 16.
Guests were given the opportunity to view the recently completed renovations to the school. The major renovations were completed before students returned at the beginning of the school year, leaving a few items to be finished throughout the year.
The building, originally designed with an open concept, became crowded when additional classrooms had to be built. Additional classrooms and walls created a maze of hallways and classrooms that could only be accessed through other classrooms.
Since the renovations have been completed, each classroom now has a door of its own off of the hallways. Collaborative areas allow additional space between classrooms for students to work together.
The new science labs have completed in the school. Garage-type doors have been installed to expand learning space between the STEM labs and other rooms.
In addition to viewing the renovations, guests were also invited to visit classrooms to see samples of students work. The Edgewood band, choir and strings program performed for guests throughout the evening.
A slide show featuring pictures of the renovations was displayed throughout the evening.
