NORTH WEBSTER — There will be a lot of rockin’ and reading at North Webster Community Public Library when family musician Leonardo kicks off the Summer Reading Program with his Rockin’ and Reading Concert 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 7 in the North Webster Community Center. With fun props and a colorful set, his award-winning show entertains, educates and empowers audiences of all ages to build a better world through reading. Everyone is welcome to attend. If your child is signed up for the Summer Reading Program, bring their Reading Passports to get stamped for extra credit toward prizes.
Family Story Time kicks off on Tuesday, June 6, with a choice of two time periods at 10:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m., and runs every Tuesday until July 18 (except for July 4). Through stories, activities and crafts, children learn about the community helpers who work to build a better world. To sign your child up for Family Story Time, stop by the Youth Services Desk or call (574) 834-7122 ext. 202. Although registration is requested, visitors are always welcome.
The fun continues on with Friday Family Food and Fun on June 9. Kids and their families will learn about constructing things as they move through four stations of activities, crafts and snacks. Parents can sign up for one of three sessions at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. Registration is required to attend with a limit of 25 kids per session, so don’t delay in registering.
Adults will learn to construct three-tier serving centerpieces from old glass tableware at a special workshop 2 p.m. Monday, June 5. These unique serving centerpieces add elegant style to any event. The workshop is free with tableware pieces provided or you can bring your own. If bringing your own pieces, you will need three graduated plates and two items to use as risers such as small vases, stemware or candleholders. Registration is required to attend.
