The State Of Children In Kosciusko County
WARSAW — From teen drug use to education, poverty, child abuse and health information, they’re the numbers that paint a picture of what life is like for young people in Kosciusko County. But sorting through piles of papers and hundreds of government sources is a time-consuming and tedious process.
The Indiana Youth Institute and the Kosciusko County Community Foundation are hosting a seminar to help educators, counselors, youth workers and other adults learn more about what’s going on with young people in their community. The forum will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, 102 E. Market St., in Warsaw.
Attendees will learn about the top challenges for kids in Kosciusko County, as well as potential solutions to those challenges. This session will provide the latest data from IYI’s 2017 KIDS COUNT in Indiana Data Book and county snapshots, as well as best practice research on successful approaches to key issues. The data-driven discussion will equip attendees with the information and strategies they need to begin making change for kids at the community level.
As part of IYI’s Youth Worker Café program, the seminar and lunch are free, but reservations are required. RSVP atwww.iyi.org/calendar.
