MENTONE — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that a box culvert replacement is scheduled for SR 19 in Mentone. SR 19 is expected to close on or after Monday, July 17, weather permitting.

The closure is scheduled to take place over Yellow Creek, located between West Eisenhower and Pearl streets in Mentone. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the work. The official state detour for the closure will be SR 25 to SR 14 to SR 19. Local detours may be available. The road may be closed up to 60 calendar days during the work.

Work on the culvert is expected to be complete by late September, weather permitting. The contract was awarded to Pioneer Associates Inc. for $717,000.
