Etna Green Council Approves Electric Pole Attachment Contract
ETNA GREEN — Etna Green’s town council saw only one item of new business at their Aug. 8 meeting.
“Most town’s have a pole top attachment agreements,” explained town employee Barry Baker, so when companies such as cable companies use the polls they pay an annual fee. Etna Green currently has no such agreements.
Spectrum engineering worked on a project in 2004 but the project was never signed off on. IMPA has advised that the town put something into place. Spectrum is offering to complete the work and update the contract for $1,350. An income of $2,000 a year is expected.
“It’s a standard engineering contract,” advised town attorney Jay Rigdon.
The board approved and accepted Spectrum’s offer.
- The board approved to raise a town employee Mark Harshbarger’s pay while doing utility work. Barry Baker made a case for Harshbarger stating that he takes a great deal of time to help work on utilities, which is outside his job description.
- The board discussed various speculations on details of Winona Powder’s expansion, ultimately deciding to table the matter until Winona Powder approaches them with a concrete plan.
