Whitko Football: Wildcats Stall Against Maconaquah
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko continues to struggle this season, losing big to Maconaquah, 48-7, Friday night in the Three Rivers Conference.
The Wildcats, which had mustered just six points in its first two games, couldn’t get on the scoreboard until the fourth quarter after already trailing by six touchdowns. Whitko amassed just 137 total yards in the game, Zach Gardner getting 66 yards on the ground via 25 carries. Hunter Reed had 18 yards on the ground and 28 yards through the air.
Maconaquah, now 1-2 on the season, had been outscored 51-6 its two losses. The Braves took a 21-0 lead into the lockerroom and then came out with 20-0 edge in the third quarter.
Whitko drops to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the TRC. The Wildcats will visit Rochester next week, Maconaquah hosting Wabash.
