Kimberly Ann (Arrigo) Thomas
Kimberly Ann (Arrigo) Thomas passed peacefully from this world, comforted by the love of her husband and family, Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017at her residence, just 21 days after receiving a shocking diagnosis of terminal cancer. She was born Feb. 4, 1958 to Robert and Christine Barham and was raised in Veedersburg, Ind., after she and her sisters were adopted in 1961 by a great uncle and aunt, Antonio and Ann Arrigo.
Kimberly attended Veedersburg Elementary and Fountain Central High School. In her late teens, she reconnected with her birth mother, Christine Arrigo Lamm of Huntland, Tenn., and they formed a bond that lasted well over 45 years.
On July 2, 1988, she married the love of her life, James Thomas in Huntland and he survives, along with the in-laws she loved, Larry and Jean Thomas of Lapaz, Ind. Kim loved being a mother and grandmother and is survived by her children, Paisha (Paul) Ashby, Goshen, Scott (Amber) Stange, Chad Strange, both of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Cranshaw, Trinity, Kyle, and AJ Strange; a great granddaughter, Jocelyn Cranshaw; brother, Tony (Linda) Arrigo, Waynetown; sisters, Denise (Jon) Woody, Indianapolis and Susan (John) Woolley, Nappanee; half siblings, Sandra Maddox and John (Vanda) Lamm both of Huntland, Tenn. She was preceded in death by a half brother, Paul David Lamm.
Kim made lifelong friends and Rhonda Klotz, Pam Juarez, Cheryl Lace, and Bonnie Spicher were not only her best friends in the world, but whom she considered family.
She found peace sitting on a quiet lake early in the morning fishing with her husband, and she loved the adventures and travel she completed with her friends. Her most recent trip to the Australian Outback was the topic of conversation for weeks. Unfortunately, she also had to work and spent more than 20 years as a printer for Century Foam in Elkhart.
According to Kimberly’s wishes she will be cremated. Family and friends may call from 3 – 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. A Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Schiefer officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to Marshall County Humane Shelter.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and prayers.
