Girls Soccer
The NorthWood girls soccer team topped Wawasee by a 4-0 final Thursday night.
The host Panthers scored a pair of goals in each half en route to blanking the Warriors in the Northern Lakes Conference match.
Avery Bontrager scored in the 14th minute for the Panthers, assisted by Cindy Barahona. The Panthers made it 2-0 on a goal by Lexi Parisi in the 37th minute.
NorthWood made it 3-0 in the 49th minute as Morgan Stickley scored, assisted by Bontrager and Neely Trenshaw. The hosts completed the win as Bontrager scored in the 51st minute, assisted by Kali Parisi and Caroline Jenkins.
NorthWood had a 15-2 edge in shots on goal and a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks in the match.
NorthWood keeper Kira Robinson had two saves, while Graceanne Kerlin had 11 stops in the net for the Warriors.
NorthWood improves to 10-4-2 overall and finished at 4-2-1 in NLC action. Wawasee drops to 3-13 overall and finishes at 0-7 in conference play.
