Syracuse Man Arrested On Battery Charges
SYRACUSE — Jason D. Weisser, 35, 709 W. North St., Syracuse, was arrested for battery to a family or household member with a child under the age of 16 present, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers with the Syracuse Police Department responded to a domestic battery incident Sunday, Sept. 17.
When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, who advised that she and Weisser were arguing in their driveway. The victim stated that Weisser became extremely angry, grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground.
The investigating officer observed a large red area around the victim’s neck and chest. The victim also had an abrasion to her left shoulder and redness and scratches on both forearms.
The officer spoke with the victim’s child, who advised she was at the scene and observed Weisser grab her mother by the throat and slam her to the ground.
Officers talked to a neighbor who had witnessed and videotaped the incident. Police viewed the videotape, which showed Weisser grab the victim by the throat and throw her to the ground.
Weisser was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Oct. 7 on a $5,000 surety and cash bond.
