Valley, Triton Ladies Ranked In Preseason Hoops Polls
INDIANAPOLIS – The Tippecanoe Valley and Triton girls basketball teams both sit in the Top 10 of their respective classes in the ICGSA Preseason Polls.
The Vikings are ranked No. 6 in the Class 3-A voting by coaches. Triton checks in at No. 10 in the Class 1-A poll.
Northridge, which won the Northern Lakes Conference title and sectional and regional championships last year, is No. 10 in the Class 4-A poll. Pike, which was state runner-up to Homestead last season, is ranked No. 1 among 4-A teams with both Penn and South Bend St. Joseph receiving votes. St. Joe won the Class 3-A state title last season and was moved up to Class 4-A this year due to the Tournament Success Factor used by the IHSAA.
Northwestern is the top-ranked team in Class 3-A. The trio of NorthWood, Glenn and Mishawaka Marian were among the teams receiving votes.
Eastern (Pekin) sits in the No. 1 spot in the Class 2-A preseason poll. Central Noble is No. 7 with Whitko among the teams receiving votes.
Michigan City Marquette is the top-ranked squad in the Class 1-A poll. Oregon-Davis is at No. 5 with Argos and Northfield both among the teams in the receiving votes list.
