State Treasurer Stops In Warsaw
WARSAW — Indiana State Treasurer Kelly Mitchell made a stop in Warsaw Wednesday morning, Nov. 8, to visit the office of Kosciusko County Treasurer Rhonda Helser. The stop was part of Mitchell’s yearly visit to county treasurers offices.
Mitchell briefly met with Helser during which time they spoke about the different programs done at the state office, the increase in state accounts and heard any issues the local treasurer may be encountering. Mitchell also encouraged the treasurers to contact her office if there are issues and a willingness to meet with the local treasurer.
Although the state treasurer does not have any direct oversight on county treasurers, there are several ways in which the two offices can interact. Mitchell took each visit as an opportunity to talk about CollegeChoice Savings Plans, TrustINdiana, the Indiana Bond Bank and much more.
“More than anything, I wanted to meet with each Treasurer to let them know that I am available to support them in their new roles”, said Treasurer Mitchell.
Kosciusko County was one of five counties visited Wednesday, which will finish her 2017 state tour of county treasurer’s offices.
During her visit she also met with county Republican party officials.
