Winona Lake Woman Charged With Auto Theft
WINONA LAKE — A Winona Lake woman has been charged with auto theft after a male subject let her borrow his mother’s car for a day. The woman kept the car for a month with no contact.
Monica Lynn Mullins, 22, 205 Kelly St., Winona Lake, is being charged with auto theft, a level 6 felony.
On Oct. 23, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department met with a woman in regards to her 2002 Nissan Altima being stolen.
The women advised that she loaned the vehicle to her son on Oct. 6. Without his mother’s consent, the son loaned the vehicle to Mullins. The agreement was that Mullins could only use the vehicle for one day.
The officer attempted to contact Mullins several times in regards to the vehicle. A warrant was issued for Mullins arrest.
Mullins was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on Nov. 11, with a $10,500 surety and cash bond.
