MILFORD – Milford’s sixth grade boys basketball team withstood challenges from both Whitko and Central Noble to stand tall as champions of its own tournament on Saturday.

Milford claimed a win in the semis by a 44-26 count over Whitko, a team it defeated just four days prior. Aiden Monds paced the winners with 22 points and Darius Lewis helped the cause with eight points.

In the title game, Milford used a 12-point lead going into the fourth quarter to maintain its pace in a 36-28 final over Central Noble. Lewis was the high man for Milford with 11 points and Monds added nine points. Ty Brooks and Ethan Slabaugh both finished with seven points in the championship game.
