PC’s For Youth To Expand To Whitley County
PC’s For Youth, a nonprofit organization that gives free computers to students for educational purposes, has announced that it will be expanding its program to include Whitley County, beginning on Jan. 1. PC’s For Youth will now be serving students in middle school, high school, college, as well as adults trying to obtain their GED in LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, DeKalb, Elkhart, Kosciusko and Whitley counties.
“It’s really amazing to see all the growth our organization has had over the past six years,” commented PC’s For Youth Executive Director Colton Strawser. “We have expanded to three counties over the past three years; Elkhart, Kosciusko and now Whitley County. I’m looking forward to working with the different schools in Whitley County, and hope that our organization can assist a lot of students within the county”
PC’s For Youth receives all of its computers through donations from businesses and community members that are upgrading to new machines, or no longer have use for computer equipment. If someone is interested in donating to the organization, a complete list of items that the organization is currently accepting is regularly updated on its website at www.pcsforyouth.org.
Students enrolled in middle school, high school, college, and GED classes are eligible to receive a computer from PC’s For Youth. To qualify to receive a computer, a student must be enrolled in an educational institution and cannot already have access to a computer at home.
Applications are available in the guidance department of all the schools within the PC’s For Youth service area and online at www.pcsforyouth.org. PC’s For Youth can be contacted by phone at (260) 220-9268 or by e-mail at [email protected].
